It's cover wank time!!!

OK, I will admit it, I am a sucker for great cover art. The cover of a book is often what first grabs my attention. I may have even bought a book or two solely based on it's art. I am not proud, but it is the truth. This book was not one of them! Well, maybe it was. Not because I thought the cover was wonderful, but because I thought it looked so wonderfully bad. I have to see if the outside and inside match. Until then....

I have nothing extremely witty to say, really, other than with her head lolling about like that, it looks like he just snapped her neck and is now going to have his way with her.

What I really wanted to comment on is that the author is the same one who wrote that magic koala bear book I LOVED (as in hated so much, I loved it because it was screamingly bad) that I posted about elsewhere. GOOD TIMES!

Please, please read the book and report back to us!

Wait...what? Magic koala bear? What book is this? Where did you post about this? Point me in the right direction!!!

It was only a minor plot point, but still hilarious.

I will unlock the post for you and out myself as a crazy livejournal person named spicedrum. Hi everybody! *waves*

omg! I had completely forgotten about that plot point. Yeah. Wow. The sad thing is that one of Ms. Skye's ever present secondary characters is a big fav of mine. I just love Izzy Teague.

I really need to get on LJ more often. I keep missing great posts!

Izzy seemed very cool. The rest of the book? Um. I think I pretty much said it all over on LJ. =P

I was very, very bad and ended up buying a LOAD of Brockmann books over on ebay this past weekend. I blame you. *g*

I got the entire troubleshooters series, plus a bunch more books - less than 3 bucks each even after shipping! There are no used book stores around here, so I am pleased.

(had to repost to correct that glaring error. sorry)

I'm not good at snark, but doesn't it look like his arm is a bit unnaturally long? Anatomically speaking? Or am I crazy?

barb said...

It does - and his shoulder looks kinda creepy!

Maybe it's supposed to be a visual euphemism for his other anatomical gifts?

I'm a vampire, I sees your cleavage. I want good meal. LOL! Sorry, but that's what it looks like to me. No wonder romances were called bodice rippers. I'm thinking this is a good example of that. :D

Ok - why did they switch shirts?

That cover is worth framing! Fabulous!

Okay, here is a caption:

By the time he got to her, the killer roses had devoured her legs--like piranhas! Yet he vowed to rescue at least her torso.

Heh. It's nasty.

But I have ofetn found that the worse the cover the better the story, or perhaps it's just that you have such poor expectations because of the bad cover you are plesantly surprised when it's not half bad. (eg. stinks like ten day old rottten eggs.)
