I have been tinkering all morning on this blog. I figured that if I am going to make a fresh start then WWR needs a fresh look. It is quite a different look than before. No moobs in the header. Gone is the bright color scheme. Actually, it looks a bit dark around here. I'm not entirely sure if I like it. The header is rather bland, but the background seemed to need something simple over it.
What do you think of the new look? Any suggestions? I am certainly open to any ideas!

Wooohooo for a fresh new start, Shannon! I'm all for it :) The great thing is that you have the new look up for the fresh new start. Now, you can tweak it whenever you want.
I think the colors are nice... but I think it's better to have the darker color outside and post area, paler. Just so it's easier to read.

Thanks, nath. I'm going to play around with it some more and see if I can tweak the colors. I was hoping the light colored font would show up on the dark background, but it is a bit of a strain on the eyes.
I am NOT a graphic design person so that header is going to be my challenge. I made my old one and was quite proud of it. I just felt like I needed to update the whole look, perhaps make it more inclusive to other genres, not just romance.

Naida, teal is absolutely my favorite color. It seems to be my default. I shop or decorate with intentions of mixing things up and trying something new. I always end up with some shade of teal in the final result.
Isn't it fun--and extremely addicting--to tinker with your layout? I like the colors and the simplicity. I recently redid mine and want to do it over again, too. Simpler design.. clean up the sidebars, etc. It's like spring cleaning! :)

Hi Shannon :) I like the new color for the post area. It's nice and you can see :) But the comment section is still very dark. Otherwise, I think you're good to go :)
I like it. You've done something to the reading pane since the other day and it's better.
I like the color scheme and the leaf pattern, very pretty. Sidebar could maybe be a bit lighter but I think it's OK if you like it as is.
I would agree that the header could be better but that can come. Lots of stock photos out there you can try -- try Flickr's creative commons.
