I read my first Loretta Chase novel over the summer, Lord of Scoundrels. It was one of those books that reminded me why I love to read. I fell hard for her characters. Sebastian and Jessica were vibrant and alive. Because of this I have been hesitant to pick up another of her books. What if I had started with the very best and no other book could live up to my first experience?

worries here. I just finished reading Mr. Perfect and loved it. No, it wasn't as good as LoS, but very few are. Benedict and Bathsheba were fun characters. Benedict was socially perfect to the point of being repressed. The image he presented to the world did not always match what was hidden beneath the surface. His internal struggle was well written and developed in a real way. Bathsheba was a woman with a reputation, but was it really deserved? Absolutely not! Yet, she was no sweet, retiring miss. She had just enough of her rebellious family's personality to make her the perfect foil for Benedict. Throw in a road trip, some childish high jinx, and sexual tension, and you get one satisfying read.

I adored this one and have it on my keeper shelf. She has such an original feel to her books, which is cool. Groovy review!
You mean, one single favorite?? Hrm. Well, it might be Captives of the Night, for an awesome rollicking plot that weaves so nicely with the character arcs... Or it could be The Last Hellion, because of the hilarious scene in the middle of a slummy London street... although I really really loved Your Scandalous Ways on several levels... and then there's Mr. Impossible, with one of my favorite class-clown heroes...

I hear Jessica and Sebastian are in The Last Hellion...it's in my TBR. I enjoyed Your Scandalous Ways a lot...read it shortly after I read LOS. :)
I'm half-way through Lord Perfect and I love love LOVE it. I hated Lord of Scoundrels (*ducks*), but I can already tell LP is going to be a keeper. In fact, I even mentioned it on my blog today. How cool! I'm glad you liked it.
I'm going on a church retreat this weekend and I'll have most of Saturday to myself, so I'm planning to take another Loretta Chase book. Now I just have to pick one!
That's so funny I'm currently reading Miss Wonderful the first in this 3 book series LOL. I can't wait to get to this one!
